Der Mond. Unser nächste Nachbar. Er ist ein Himmelskörper wie die Erde. Wie er entstand weiß niemand. Forscher glauben, dass er zur selben Zeit wie die Erde entstand. Vor etwa drei Milliarden Jahren ist die Sonne entstanden. Damals formten sich aus Gesteinsbrocken die Erde. Etwa eine Millionen Jahre später kolliedierte ein riesiger Asteruirt, die junge Erde, und ein Teil von ihr brach raus. Daraus formte sich nach ein paar Millionen Jahren der Mond.
Also der Mond ist schon lange der Begleiter der Erde. Wenn man morgens oder abends in den Himmel guckt, sieht man noch die Krater, die über mehrer tausend Kilometer tief sind. Also ist der Mond schon lange da und wird auch noch lange der Begleiter der Erde bleiben.
